How we report remediation work
An illustrative example using a demonstration PDF. It shows the structure of our reporting: the original issue, what we changed, how it is tested, what remains, and what you receive.

The sample document was created for demonstration. It is not a client file, and the results are not a full WCAG 2.2 or PDF/UA conformance assessment.

- Original issue
- A public-notice PDF exported without tags: no document language or title, no heading structure, images without alt text, tables without header cells and no defined reading order. The text itself was real, selectable text.
- Remediation
- Added a tag tree, set language and title, tagged headings in order, wrote alt text, marked table header cells, set the reading order and added the PDF/UA identifier.
- Test method
- On client projects: an automated PDF/UA check with PAC (PDF Accessibility Checker), then a manual review of tags, reading order, alt text and tables, and a screen-reader read-through where it is in scope. This illustration shows the checklist format only.
- Limitations
- Nine checks are a selection. Passing them does not show full WCAG 2.2 or PDF/UA conformance. Colour contrast, link text, form behaviour and the quality of the writing need separate review.
- Deliverables
- The remediated PDF and a dated report under your agency’s brand, listing what was checked, what was changed and anything the author still needs to fix.
